Applications for the 2024 – 2025 Summer School are Starting!

In accordance with the provisions of the Kocaeli Health and Technology University Summer School Regulation, the 2025 Summer School for our undergraduate and associate degree students will be implemented over a period of 6 weeks — consisting of 5 weeks of instruction (the first four weeks at triple course hours, and the fifth week at double course hours) followed by 1 week of examinations. The academic calendar and selected articles from the regulation are outlined below.

Important Information for KOSTÜ Students:

Kocaeli Health and Technology University students will complete their summer school registration via the OBS (Student Information System). All courses offered during the Fall and Spring semesters may be opened for Summer School, provided they meet the conditions specified in Article 5(5) of the Summer School Regulation. Please follow the steps below carefully for registration.

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION STEPS

  1. Log into OBS and select courses via the Course Registration section.
  2. Consult your advisor to finalize your course selection.
  3. Make the payment based on the total ECTS of the selected course(s) and send the payment receipt to: muhasebe@kocaelisaglik.edu.tr.
  4. Select your course(s) from the registration screen corresponding to the ECTS you have paid for.
  5. After selecting courses, click SAVE and generate a REPORT.
  6. Once approved by your advisor, your selected courses will be visible in the system.

For Students from Other Universities:

Students wishing to take courses within the scope of KOSTÜ’s Summer School must complete the relevant form and submit it via email to: yaz@kocaelisaglik.edu.tr

KEY ARTICLES FROM THE SUMMER SCHOOL REGULATION

General Provisions

  • Article 5(5): A course may only be opened if at least 3 students register for it.

Course Registration

  • Article 8(1): A student may take a maximum of 5 courses during the summer school, provided there are no scheduling conflicts.
  • Article 9(1): Students may take courses they have not yet taken, failed, or wish to improve their grades in. The latest grade will be valid.
  • Article 10(1): Students with a GPA of 3.50 or higher, who have successfully completed all required courses by the end of the Spring semester, may take one course from the upper level with the approval of the administrative board.
  • Article 11(1): Students may take courses not offered at KOSTÜ from other universities, provided the course content and learning outcomes are compatible and approved by the respective academic unit.

External Students’ Course Registration

  • Article 12(1): Students from other universities may register for courses by paying the fee per ECTS and submitting a decision from their university’s administrative board. Grades obtained will be evaluated in accordance with KOSTÜ’s education and examination directive.

Withdrawal from Courses

  • Article 13(1): Students may withdraw from registered courses by submitting a withdrawal petition to their academic unit by the end of the second week.
    • Article 13(2): No refund will be issued for withdrawn courses, including for external students.
